"Real People, Real Choices"

Life today is noisy, confusing, and full of traps. The easy way — the broad road — looks good for a while, but it always ends in emptiness. Jesus told us the way to life is narrow, and few find it.

This section is about walking that narrow road. Simple truths, straight reminders, and encouragement for anyone who’s serious about following God in the middle of a world gone sideways.

Choosing What Lasts

Life will always offer you two paths — the broad road and the narrow one. The broad road is crowded, loud, and full of distractions. It looks easier. It promises quick rewards. But it always ends the same way: empty.

The narrow road? It’s harder. Less popular. It doesn’t promise comfort, and it doesn’t attract crowds. But it leads to life.

Jesus said in Matthew 7:13-14:
“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.”

That’s not just a verse — it’s reality. Every day, we’re making choices that put us on one road or the other.

The broad road looks like living only for yourself. Chasing money as if it’s the only thing that matters. Choosing temporary pleasure over lasting truth. Saying, “I’ll deal with God later” and living like there’s no tomorrow.

The narrow road looks different. It’s deciding to forgive when bitterness feels easier. It’s choosing honesty when lying could get you ahead. It’s being faithful when the world says faith doesn’t matter. It’s putting God first, even when nobody else around you is.

I’m not writing this as someone who always got it right. Far from it. I’ve lived on that broad road, and I know where it leads — chaos, regret, and emptiness. It promises a lot, but it delivers nothing.

But when I finally turned to God, I found something the broad road could never give: peace. Real peace. The kind that settles in your soul even when life isn’t perfect.

The narrow road isn’t easy, but it’s worth it. And the truth is, we don’t walk it alone. Jesus doesn’t just point us toward the road — He walks with us on it. Step by step. Even when we stumble.

So ask yourself today: Which road are you on? Are you chasing what won’t last, or are you walking toward the life God promises?

The world will always push you toward the broad road. But Jesus calls you to something greater. And the choice is yours.

Straight Talk: Impressing or Living?

Let me get one thing straight. I know where everyone stands when it comes to life. Some people have it all together — the nice cars, the beautiful home, the family, the loving wife and kids. And if you’ve worked hard, stayed disciplined, and built that kind of life, then by all means — enjoy it. You deserve it.

But here’s where it gets crazy: going into debt just to impress others. Buying things you can’t afford just so people think you’ve “made it.” That’s not success — that’s slavery to appearances.

Here’s the bigger truth though: whether you’ve got it all or you’re barely scraping by, if you don’t put God first, it all eventually crumbles. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow — but it will. Sometimes it’s a slow leak that builds until the whole thing caves in. Other times it’s a major collapse that blindsides you.

But believe me, without God as the foundation, it always comes.

Success without Him is temporary. Success with Him is eternal.

Just a Thought…

If you want to tweak things a little bit and get on track, come visit my blog. This isn’t about changing your lifestyle or giving up the good things in life — nice cars, vacations, family, fun. You can enjoy all that and more.

But the key is this: you need to walk with Jesus, every minute, every day. Because His prize is the biggest prize of all — eternity.

Straight Talk: The Noise of the World

Everywhere you look, the world is shouting. Ads scream for your money. Politicians fight for your loyalty. Social media begs for your attention. The noise never stops.

But here’s the truth: the louder the world gets, the easier it is to drown out the one voice that really matters — God’s. And that’s exactly how the enemy wants it. Distracted, busy, scrolling, hustling — too tired at the end of the day to even whisper a prayer.

The world tells you to keep grinding, keep chasing, keep proving yourself. But God says, “Be still, and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10).

The noise of the world will burn you out. The voice of God will fill you up.

Straight Talk: Chasing Empty Things

Most people spend their whole life chasing after things that don’t last. A bigger paycheck. A nicer car. More likes. More followers. The list goes on.

And let’s be real — when you finally get it, it never feels like enough. The joy fades, and you’re left needing more. That’s because the things of this world were never meant to fill the emptiness inside.

Jesus said it straight: “What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?” (Mark 8:36).

You can chase after the world, or you can chase after God. Only one of them will last forever.

Straight Talk: Surface Religion

Too many people think showing up to church once a week is enough. They sit, sing, maybe even clap their hands — and then go home unchanged. By Monday, God is already forgotten until the next Sunday rolls around.

That’s surface religion. And surface religion won’t save anybody.

God isn’t looking for church attendance. He’s looking for a heart that follows Him daily — in the quiet, in the workplace, in the struggles, and in the choices nobody else sees.

Jesus said in Matthew 15:8: “These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me.”

Faith isn’t about checking a box. It’s about walking with Him every single day.
